Eminem: 10 Things You Didn't Know About The Marshall Mathers LP

On 23rd May 2020 it will be exactly 20 years since the release of The Marshall Mather LP’. 20 years since Eminem convinced millions of nerdy white teenagers all over the world that they could attempt to rap.

The huge global success of Eminem’s third album is undeniable, but the rapper did come from humble beginnings in both his life and his music career. His debut album, ‘Infinite’, was a huge failure both critically and commercially and only sold around 1000 copies.

Eminem garnered criticism from many critics for his homophobic and graphic lyrics about murder, but the rapper doubled down on the controversy for his third album and went on to create one of the most successful albums of all time.

‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ has sold over 25 million copies worldwide, including 1.78 million copies sold in the first week of its release.
